Véronique's brother Philippe Drouhin is the man of the vine, responsible for the Drouhin estate in Burgundy and Oregon. From a very young age, he was able to observe the methods of viticulture practiced at Drouhin, and his father Robert, involved him in his own research. After graduating from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Tours, he went to the Lycée Viticole in Beaune and attended enology courses at the University of Dijon. He entered the family business officially in 1988 and was given the responsibility of the vineyards. Very soon after, he opted for the biological approach and its exacting constraints. His role is to rigorously follow the vine at every step of its evolution. He is the one who selects the stocks and clones, chooses the care to be given to the soils and oversees the pruning schedule. His decisions contribute greatly to the quality and exact expression of the terroirs. Philippe lives in Beaune but loves traveling to far-off places and discovering other cultures. He has driven across the Sahara desert and would love to discover Asia. There is only one thing missing: enough time!
