(60-75 minutes) Few winemakers have the opportunity to make wines from the same grape grown 7,500 miles apart from one another. Fourth generation winemaker, Veronique Drouhin Boss has been doing this in Oregon since 1988 and her family’s estate dates back to 1880 in Burgundy. This tour will take guests through our four story gravity flow winery, focusing on what makes Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Oregon and Burgundy similar, yet so distinctly different. Following the tour, guests will be guided through a seated comparative tasting of five wines, including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Drouhin Oregon and France along with a selection of fine cheeses. The DDO Library Tour. $35 per person. (60-75 minutes) Winemaker Veronique Drouhin Boss has been hand-crafting Oregon Pinot Noirs of elegance and grace since 1988. Since then we have found that while our wines are delicious upon release, they prove even more stunning after 5, 10 or more years in the cellar. While we can tell you how many of these wines taste, we think it means more if you can taste the wines for yourself. On the Library Tour guests will spend time in our vineyard and touring through our 100% gravity flow winery while learning about what makes our Oregon Pinot’s so worthy of cellar time. At the tour’s conclusion we will serve our current release Chardonnay Arthur, Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, and Pinot Noir Laurène alongside two Pinot Noirs chosen from our Library collection and a selection of fine cheeses. Large Groups (8 or more): Reservations are required for groups of 8 or more. As the Dundee Hills becomes a more popular destination, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the DDO experience. Our goal is to provide exceptional customer service, and we’ve found that it’s necessary to book specific tasting appointments for groups of 8 to 15 in size. These appointments allow our staff to work closer with guests giving them a more personalized experience. Reservations are available at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30 or 1:30, and we do ask that groups be prompt. A credit card number is required to hold the reservation, but will not automatically be charged. Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged and missed appointments will not be refunded.
